Debut with New Team at Kentucky Shows Promise, NHMS Up Next!
Donny Lia News
Donny Lia's debut with Stringer Motorsports showed the promise the New York driver had been looking for during a season filled with bad luck in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.  The Two-Time NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour champion qualified 6th in the Dave Dayton's Racers Auction & Trade Show #90 Toyota at Kentucky Speedway and showed during the weekend that he is ready to be a force in the NASCAR Truck ranks.

Lia ran strong within the top-ten during the first half of the Built Ford Tough 225 at the Sparta, KY oval. A long green-flag run at the end of the race created several strategy scenarios that put some front-runners solid runs in jeopardy. That caution-free stretch of the race forced Lia and many others onto pit road to make a green flag pit stop, causing the #90 to lose two-laps to the leader. Lia finished 18th, a statistic un-characteristic of the strong-debut he and the team put forth.

"We had a real good weekend," said Lia. "For the first time together, we showed a lot of speed and potential. Trip Bruce and the guys worked real hard and we were able to qualify strong. We still have a lot to learn about each other but it was a good start. It's too bad we had to pit under green at the end of the race because we could have had a top-ten finish."

Donny's next race with the Stringer Motorsports team is on September 18th at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon, NH. Donny is very familiar with New England's premier NASCAR facility, he's won there in a NASCAR Modified twice.

"I love racing at New Hampshire," adds Lia.  "I've won there two-times in a Modified and know how to get around that place. It's a fun weekend too because it's kind of like coming home for me. Returning to the Northeast, where I cut my teeth racing, I get to see a lot of people I know. It's a weekend I always have circled on my calendar."

The New Hampshire 200 starts at 3pm ET and will be televised live on SPEED and on Sirius/MRN Radio.
